The Haute Critique

I wanted to like Scott Pilgrim, but oh man. I had half of a special brownie and that didn’t even help. This is a quick rundown of my feelings on the film.

First off I was bored. And not in the “this is a little dry I hope it picks up soon way”, but in the “dear god why won’t this movie end” way. And I was bored almost from the get-go. It’s not that it slowed down, it never sped up.

Firstly, Avatar gave me a big, blue boner. I can’t wait to see the Na’vi cosplayers at Comic Con this year. Though there won’t be maybe people who can pull off anything but “chubby Na’vi”. Those CGI fuckers had like 0% body fat. The fact that I felt conflicted about Avatar is probably a good [...]
